The Real Thing

You would think they would have had enough birthday, but we had to save a few surprises for their actual day:
I think they like their cars.
Apparently they worked up an appetite:
Whew. I'm official done blogging about birthdays. On to real life!

The Party

You can't get better than family and friends, great weather, good food, good cake, good presents, and TWO happy TWO year olds!

In Between Birthdays...

My parents may not want to come back for a long time...we made them do too much work. I'm not sure I feel that guilty about it though!

We're still not totally moved in, but cleaning out the garage was a huge step:

At least we did have some down time. I don't know who enjoyed story time more-the kids or the gma~

And there's nothing like Sunday afternoon naps--or running around while the adults wish they were napping...

It's Not Funny Yet

We take a break from our regularly scheduled kid blog posts, and fill you in on what Ryan has been doing. A couple of weeks ago his dad took him mountain climbing.  The details are kind of sketchy as to what actually happened on this trip, but here are the facts as I know them.

1. They left my house at 8:30 am
2. They made it to the top.
3. They arrived back at my house at 11pm (as opposed to the original 3pm)
4. Ryan has stated: "I am never going to do anything like that again."

Adam's Haircut

Ever since Ryan shaved Adam's head as a baby (yes, it was as horrible as you would think), I have been hesitant to do much with his hair. I've trimmed it here and there, but never have done a very good job. But since the poor boy was sweating to death in this 100 degree weather, and because he looked like the Shaggy Dog, we decided to take him somewhere and do it right for once.  You would think that between the movie, the car, and the lollipop, he would have enjoyed the experience. Not so. But there were some benefits to the otherwise stressful trip. 1)No hair to clean up  2)He looks good now 3) He discovered a love for trains and has been saying "choo choo" ever since.

Yes, he has a sticker on his nose. It has a bee on it.

Birthday Week

My parents came into town to start out birthday week. My bday is a week before the kids, so there was a lot of celebrating. I didn't really have any plans in mind for this year, which was a good thing because even though it was my birthday, it still ended up being all about the kids (of course:)

Dinner at Islands:  The food was good, but even better were the "birds" that saved us from toddler meltdowns.
Then we burned off our dinner at the park....

How can my mother heart not melt at this? He turned around to "catch" her every time!
