We no longer own our Rancho Domingo house. So we went to fix up a few things and say goodbye. I was surprised about how unemotional I was about the whole thing. We are officially settled in our new house and our new life and I recognized this old house for what it was--four walls and carpet. Except for this room: The kid's room. The one that went from storage, to an exercise space, to a guest room, to finally fulfilling its purpose: hosting sleeping babies. The paint color is different, but the feeling was the same. And I will never forget it.
