Since No One Else Is

The "new items" on my google reader are extremely low, so since apparently no one else is blogging, I guess I will.

Thank you for your comments on my brownie post. It was a good reminder to me to be patient because of what has been going on this week:

You should never say these words out loud: "Our kids haven't been sick in a long time". Even knocking on wood can't prevent the projectile vomiting that is bound to occur after such a statement.

But we are trying to count our blessings:

At least we don't have anything too important going on this week
At least I had just done all the laundry so the machine has been available for lots of soiled blankets/towels/sheets/etc.
At least my kids like baths cause they have had a lot this week
At least our carpet is a nice "hide spots" color
At least our couch has a slip cover we can wash
At least they really like bananas and applesauce
At least it's hot so we wouldn't have been able to go outside much anyway
At least they have decided they like TV
At least Ry and I don't feel sick....yet...knock on wood please (maybe if someone else does it will work)
At least I moved the important papers a few minutes before Rachel got sick on that same spot
At least I haven't had to worry about making 3 meals a day
At least one of us still has a sense of humor (the first time Adam threw up, R laughed her head off)

Okay, so this is the lamest post ever. I am in need of some entertainment that can't be found on pbs kids, so...start blogging people!

Sunday Afternoon

If your mom gives you a cup of milk, you will put it in the cupboard.

If you put it in the cupboard, you will see the brownie mix and ask to make some. You will put on an apron and a bib, but you will still make a big mess.

So you will decide to take a bath. While you are taking a bath, your mom will soak all of your chocolate covered clothes in the sink. When you get out of the bath, you will ask to put on your church shoes and a diaper. You walk into the kitchen and track brownie mix onto the carpet, so you decide to clean up.

Mom helps by getting out the mop, but you are scared and hide in the corner.
Then, the timer goes off, and you take what was left of the brownies out of the oven.
You are too excited to see them, so you slip on the wet floor, fall down, and cry.
All of this work has reminded you that you are hungry, so you get to have pizza and brownies for lunch.

All of that eating has made you thirsty. So, chances are, if you're thirsty, your mom will give you a cup of milk.

Happy Anniversary!

Who would've thought in 7 years we'd have more houses than kids?
Life with Ryan has been full of surprises, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Love!

PS. We have an appalling lack of pictures of the two of us. Let's work on that.

Everyday

Here is a typical day for us:

Wake up too early and wait until the last possible minute to get up
Eat breakfast while the kids watch Sid the Science Kid and I check email
Clean up from breakfast
Get dressed including slathering sunscreen on
Go for a walk outside and make sure to check the mail and bring in the trashcans
Coerce Adam into coming inside
Have a snack
Clean up the path of destruction that we made that morning
Make a new path of destruction with our toys
Try to make loading the dishwasher or washing machine last a long time so we don't have to think of something else to do.
Make lunch
Eat lunch in two seconds and then throw it on the floor.
Chase two hyped up kids around the house and tackle them for a diaper change
Naptime (or play in our beds loudly time)
Dinner
Chaos or pray that Ryan is done with work so we can do something constructive to last until bedtime
Bath nights are awesome
Night Night
ZZZZZZ

Stop to Smell, Taste, and Trample the Flowers

Every Thursday Ryan gives me a "night off". All that means is that he steps up his normal fatherly tasks and I put on something that doesn't have dried food on it and do something other than sing the Wheels on the Bus. Thanks, husband!

So this week he took the kids to the Bellagio to see the flowers and the fountains. Judging from these pictures, I think they had a good time.

For Gma Jean

I'm not sure he looks as good as Tate or Davis in the suit, but here he is:
post smooch: he looked so handsome, she couldn't resist

Am I Lucky, or What?

Happy Mother's Day!
