Ever since Ms. Lori started her preschool, we have wanted to go and have Ryan do a magic show. We were so grateful it worked out to do one for her summer camp. I have seen him do these tricks 100 times, but I can honestly say that this group was the most enthusiastic.

Memory Lane Ep 6
April 28, 2002--
I met Ryan (and Wes) for the first time 11 years ago. It was just a normal Sunday in our BYU student ward. But there were these two new boys. I didn't want to be a part of the group of girls obviously wanting to be noticed by them. But I couldn't shake the feeling that I was supposed to talk to them. I forgot about it until I found myself walking home and the group behind me started to catch up. It's rare that I hear the Spirit speak to me in an audible voice. But this was one of those times. "Turn around and introduce yourself." So I did. It was as simple as that.
"Hi, I'm Amy."
"Ryan"
"Wes"
"It's nice to meet you."
That was it. And that might have been all there was. But then we all decided to play frisbee the next day and the rest was history, as they say. There were several weeks of stupid BYU flirting (Ryan working his thunder, Wes as the wingman) before our first official date, but I think I knew that my life had forever changed.

It's 11 years later. And it's another normal Sunday. We went for a walk and ended up playing frisbee. Watching Ryan with our kids made me really glad that I listened to the Spirit. And I like to think that Wes was there too-still acting as wingman.

Also in February
Ryan went skiing with his dad:
We started a reading program at the library: 1,000 books before kindergarten--too bad we only have 6 months to go...
The kids had a pajama party for preschool. I have never seen them more excited about anything. I wish the teachers hadn't told them about it a whole week in advance. Every day I had to tell them that no, it's not the pajama party today. But finally, it was time and for a short amount of time, all four kids were bathed and clean!
And...we have been doing a lot of hanging around...
And he has been busy busy teaching and more teaching:
We usually try to go to the library once a week and we have started going to Pottery Barn for their story time--it's actually very cute!

"Ryan's" Birthday
Ryan had a birthday! He did not care or acknowledge this. In fact, he scheduled himself to work all day. But, there were a couple of four year olds that I simply couldn't disappoint, so we threw him a little party. You can tell we love our daddy around here!

Memory Lane: Ep 1
This year will bring our 10th anniversary...yes, 10! So I decided that I am going to record some memories from those first few years.
February 1, 2003: The Proposal
Ryan used the Memory Lane theme to recreate most of our dating moments--from the big to the small. I wasn't sure he was proposing until the end, but I had a pretty good idea most of the night. It was still awesome though.

I wish we had you in this picture Michelle! |
"Ryan worked his thunder. He worked his thunder so slick. Ryan worked his thunder with lots of little tricks." Why oh why do I have those lyrics Ron and not the ones from the awesome song you wrote?! |

Birthday
I had a birthday. It was a great one. I turned 30-I have no problem admitting that. I had actually looked forward to it. But I didn't anticipate how spoiled I would be. Especially by my husband, who let's face it is not the best at celebrating birthdays. But not only did he send me shopping and to the spa, but he threw me the biggest surprise party I have ever seen. I was definitely not expecting that! You were probably there, or invited and couldn't make it. Thank you for coming and for everyone who helped! We have lots of pictures, but I didn't want to post them without people's permission, so I tried to stick with the ones of my family. As you can tell-Adam and Rachel were very excited to be at the party.

And for those of you who are wondering about my 30 by 30 list--I accomplished 24/30 so not bad. I thought I would report that I did everything except get pregnant, but just the opposite seems to be true. And I couldn't be happier about that!
