Last Disney Day

Okay, so our passes expired in June, so of course we had to go for one last Disney Day. It's been three months and we all miss it. So book some tutoring with Ryan so we can get passes again :)

Adam used his birthday money to buy a hat to match his dad's
The main thing we did was a character lunch. We figure we will do stuff like that while half our children are still free. Plus, the last time we had one, a certain somebody crawled under the table and had an accident, so we figured this one would go a lot better. And it did :)

Brooke was there too!

I was still in a wheelchair with a broken foot so Adam pushed me through the Goofy's Sky School Line. He was the only one who would go with me!

I have a picture of Wes and Lucy in this same spot. I still tear up every single time we are here!

It may seem crazy that we would drag these guys to DL for less than one day, but it really has been amazing memories with our family. We hardly get our daddy at home and so it's so great to see him here at the place he loves the most with the people he loves the most :)

First week of Summer

The last day of school finally came! Adam is so funny. They played games and watched movies at school for the last week and he said it was sooo boring! He just hates when things change...
In the middle of all that school fun...I had a birthday! Yeah--this is the only picture I have of Erica eating my cake (I didn't care just as long as she was eating something!) I felt really spoiled on my bday...lots of time with friends, family and a sillouette machine that I was not expecting!
Adam lost his 2nd tooth...and he almost really lost it in the kitchen...blended right in. But we found it and it is safely with the tooth fairy now

And...I broke my foot. Darn darn darn. Just stepped wrong in my exercise class I have gone to a hundred times. I was in a splint and crutches for three days which was the worst part. Then I was in this boot for a month which was doable except showering/bathing was awful and not ever taking it off was awful. Now I am just supposed to wear good sneakers and go back if it hurts. Which it does. Almost all the time. But not enough to get me out of anything...just enough to make me mad I can't do the activities I want to do.
I have learned to be patient with myself though and it's been interesting to spend some time as a "handicapped person." I'm thankful to friends who brought meals, babysat and changed diapers, and for the strangers at stores who helped me with groceries and heavy lifting.

So even though it started off kinda rocky, we are so happy to be in summer and have done lots of fun and happy things...more to come! :)

Las Vegas 51s game

Take me out to the ball game,
take me out to the crowd...
or just take me to the big grassy hill and we'll have more fun there than at the game...

We love going to the Las Vegas 51's baseball games. We were bummed this time though cause it was too hot and we couldn't go sit on the grass seats. So we stayed until the top of the 4th and then decided to go home. But we ended up playing outside for at least a half an hour. It was so fun. The girls tried and failed to climb uphill. And Adam had a great time playing catch. And Rachel had a great time just running and rolling and falling. Then, she glanced over at a particularly shady tree and said, "Hey, the grass is greener over there!" So she walked over and layed down in the greener spot. She's no dummy.

24 Hours

I can't really blog about this one since I wasn't there, but Ryan went to Disneyland with Royce and Heather since it was open for 24 hours. And they stayed the entire 24 hours. The first thing they did was stand in line to meet Anna and Elsa...this cracks me up for some reason. And Ryan says he blew it...waited two hours and didn't even talk to Elsa...oh well!

So after what looks like a really exciting time, (and a nap), Ryan headed home. His expected arrival was 7pm. But...then he called and said that his transmission was out and he was stranded near Baker, CA. *Well...this was not good news. So I scrambled to get a babysitter and prepared to make the 2 hour drive to go get him and determine how to get our car home. But...thank goodness we know good people. Our mechanic was nice enough to come out and determine that it was toast, but filled it with enough transmission fluid to make sure he got home. So at 2 am, Ryan was home and the car was dead in the street. We really thought we were going to bury it and looked for a "new" car for about 5 days, but again the mechanic world came through and we got a new transmission for cheaper than we thought. So this car is on its 4th life...
would Ryan say that his 24 trip was worth it? Yes, yes he would. Am I extra extra glad that I refused to go? Yes, Yes I am.

We had some fun of our own...

May 23 the kids celebrated summer birthdays at school...I was especially excited about this because I have a summer birthday and always felt forgotten at school...so I'm glad they got a chance :)

Adam conquered these monkey bars...he was so proud of himself.

*Heather--you are not allowed to have ANY guilt about this trip :)

Utah Bound

My dad made a trip to Salt Lake City. We hadn't been there for awhile, and it's easier/cheaper to see him in Utah than flying to St. Louis, so we made the trip up for a few days. It is always super nice to see my family, esp my gpa who is almost 91. We also saw so many dear friends and it was especially good to see those who we normally miss on trips. Hopefully we'll get to see the rest of you next time :)

Thursday: After passing it on the 15 dozens of times, we finally stopped and toured Cove Fort. It was really awesome actually. Made me wish we were in Nauvoo. Then it was off to Royce and Heather's for a sleepover...thanks for letting us stay :)
Friday: spent the day at Gpa's and with cousins. It was a lot of fun to just soak up family. And of course we had to do all of the traditional things-play tennis and play on the pool table. Good times
Saturday-spent the morning with Dad, then headed to Provo--if you were not there then you should have been. Lunch at Chick fil A, BYU Astrofest, climbing the Y and Round Table pizza. Can't get any better than that.
Sunday-Lori and Ryan stayed up late making birthday magic for Lucy's birthday. And we had a really fun day going to church and celebrating Lucy's birthday before heading home. My babies also turned 18 months which makes them way too big to even think about :)
Thanks for having us Utah~until next time :)
