TBall and Soccer

I was excited when I found out about 4 week classes at the community center. That way my shy/perhaps uncoordinated children could find out what sports and activities they like without being fully committed. So we put Adam in TBall and both of them in soccer. I had no idea how much fun it would be. We all loved it! All the classes were hilarious, but I was happy to see that they did improve each week. (Sort of :)

Lowes

Thanks to a friend, we found out that Lowe's does free building projects for kids on Saturdays. They get an apron, goggles, and a badge for every project. And although I was quite frustrated with my lack of building skills, it was fun and I'm sure we'll do it again.

This time it was a "plinko" type game. Was too busy hammering to get any "after" pictures

Baseball

Adam has enjoyed playing baseball for a long time. Although his equipment usually consists of wrapping paper tubes, and balled up socks. We decided to take him out for the real thing. It was really fun. And the kids both did better than I expected (even if the videos don't proof that :)

St. Patrick's Day

Our St. Patrick's Day was a little unusual this year. We didn't wear green or eat corned beef and cabbage. Instead we hosted four youth for a formal dinner before their "church prom". I panicked the day before realizing that I had not thought this through. I don't know how to cook anything. I haven't used my china in years. And I certainly don't have a formal dining table. But of course we pulled it off and I hope those teenagers had as much fun as we did. But if nothing else, we had really good leftovers.

We forgot to take a before picture, but you get the idea

Mini chocolate bunt cake with powdered sugar and raspberries

Looks like they're having fun to me

Gave this to our babysitters...couldn't have done it without them!
Next year I would like to go back to our standard Irish traditions, but it was fun to feel young again for one night!

If all else fails...

As you may know, we had some issues with a certain three year old in our house who decided that using the toilet was optional. When a few other methods failed, we opted to make a Treasure Box. And voila! At least this time, it worked. No paint got in anyone's face either. Success all around :)

Detroit

Zoe Annette Livingston is the newest addition to our family. We were thrilled to be able to go spend the weekend with family and attend her baby blessing with almost all the cousins...
All cousins except for Josie...if I knew how to photoshop her in, I would

Aunt Emma was so nice to make play doh with these guys. They LOVED it!

We had a really great time. It was so fun to watch the kids play and get along so well. And that baby is just about the cutest thing ever. When we got home, Adam cleaned his room and said, "My cousins are coming to spend the night this week!" I hope someday they will. And although it is fun to have an even 4 boys and 4 girls in the family, we found out that Eric and Jenny are contributing grandkid #9 to the family...so maybe the next reunion will be in Kansas City!
