Growing Up

I'm trying not to act too sentimental about the fact that these guys are growing up...big time. I have spent some time lately going through some old pictures and videos...never a good idea when you are hormonal.

After Rachel got herself all ready for the day, I looked at her and asked, "When did you get so big?"
She just looked at me with a teenage face and shrugged, "Oh, you know"

Yes, I was there, but I'm still in major denial that it really happened :)  Good thing we're getting a second chance at a new team...(and yes, I know that there is a lot more growing to happen :)

Visitors

We love it when the "godparents" come into town...we had a fun, but hot day at the Gilcrease Orchard and Nature Sanctuary. My favorite part was when Royce got bit by the ostrich about 3 inches away from Rachel's hair...(I need that pic Heath :) Although our apple picking was lame, and we were way too tired to care about our pumpkins, it was a great way to keep the kids occupied...

and then the adults got to go to a magic show. This magician was on America's Got Talent...is it awful that I think my hubby could do way better and actually shares some of his same tricks? It was fun anyway though :)

The First of Many

We celebrated Halloween like most people...going to as many free events as possible--mostly involving pumpkins...the kids were so excited to paint their pumpkins. We had to fight for a table so I just grabbed whatever colors I could. I thought black would make for a great jack o lantern. I didn't think about how seriously Adam would take his painting job. There is a face and arms on his pumpkin...but only a trained Mother's Eye could find them :)

Life Lessons

This is what happens when you put daddy in charge of an art project...they loved it though. Everything is just better with a painted moustache.

And I have to record these conversations:

R: "I don't want to grow up"
M: "Why?"
R: "I'm scared of getting married."
M: "How come?"
R: "I don't like boys anymore."

and..

R while acting as Ariel: "Lightning McQueen, Will you marry me?"
A as McQueen: "No! I can't. I'm a car. Cars do not get married."
